About The Well

The Well is designed to be Carolina’s news source for faculty and staff. Employees can read the day’s top stories, learn more about projects in schools, units and departments, and see how Carolina’s employees work to uphold the University mission of research, teaching and service. News grouped by category, from the arts and humanities to research, make it easy to sort by topics of interest. All of the content is targeted specifically to University employees.

The website is updated daily with new content, including breaking news and features that are of interest to our community. It also serves as a place where employees can easily link to business applications, strategic initiative websites and important employee-related benefits and resources.

As part of the site, we are launching In the Know, featuring several important pieces of information employees need to know each day, such as road closures, benefits enrollment deadlines or weather-related issues.

The Well’s stories inform employees about broad University initiatives, such as Carolina’s strategic plan and Operational Excellence. Site visitors can read profiles of University employees showing how their work upholds our mission. Through individual stories, regular features like Carolina People and occasional series, The Well brings our campus to life through its people.
